I recently used Hill Shipping to bring over a 75 corvette that I purchased from Maryland. They arranged the collection of the vehicle from the seller's home, the shipping to southampton, and all the paperwork involved. This included making sure the import tax was only 5% as the vehicle is over 30 years old. Everything went according to plan and the vehicle was waiting for me to pick up at the port the day after the ship docked. The vehicle was in the same condition it was in when it left the previous owner. Hi , well where do i start? well a few year ago ( 11) to be exact i had a 1941 Cadillac fastback which to this day i regret selling, i've had around 50 classic cars since 1982 and have never really settled with any.

The closest ive come to settling with a car was my said mentioned 41 Cadillac, but due to commitments at the time and needing a change i decided to sell. BAD mistake which i never really got over... SOOO i decided in September 2011 that i would once again go back to owning a 1940s YANK, never expecting to come across a 1941 Buick fastback, same body style to my Cadillac .

I've had a passion for classic American cars since I was young, and had a

dream of owning one when I was fortunate to do so, so on the net I went

bearing in mind I had a budget, I didn't want a bucket of rust though! I was

viewing this 72 chevelle on an American car site a private seller, He

forwarded me many restoration pictures and receipts of all new parts.

So I went ahead and made the purchase, bearing in mind I'd not arranged

shipment yet!

Craig and his partner took the vehicle for a drive around the USA before they delivered the vehicle into Baltimore port , we then arrange shipping to the UK !

Bought this car and drove it most of the way across the US on a once in a lifetime Road Trip

Everyone said we couldnt do it – but we did

Always been a little reluctant to go the whole hog and import a car as it always seemed so expensive and time consuming.

The guys at Hill Shipping made sure this was as easy as buying from just up the road.

Car drove excellent and once wed got it to the port, all the work that Jamie and Co. at Hill Shipping had done for us made it relatively easy to get all the paperwork done and have the car ready for shipping within 2 hours of arriving at Maryland dock yards. Have to mention tho that the guys at the doc in Baltimore were sooo helpful! What was expected to take about 4 hours at the doc, took just over an hour.

Arrived unmarked a mere 4 weeks later.

Hooked on American classics.

Well here we are back with Kevin and his team at hills shipping. Last year we decided to change our chrysler for a cadillac but the only one that would fit in our garage was a 41 fastback which we found in New Jersey. We employed Kevin and his team to ship it into southampton. It all went smoothly until i saw it for the first time, it needed serious work. We were disappointed with the car and realised we were never going to be passionate about it so we set about doing the work on it and sold it to a car dealer in holland.

Unperterbed we began looking for our dream car once again. We found a one owner 1971 coupe de-ville all original with just 65000 miles on the clock. We did our homework and went into everything thoroughly with the owner Harry Clarke from Classic Promenade who specialises in quality rare classics. He was very helpful and imformative a real pleasure to do business with. Now the fun starts, it wont fit into the garage?! My first port of call ( excuse the pun) was Kevin at Hills shipping, i just left it all to him and his team. I had just 6 weeks to widen our garage! So weekends were taken up knocking down, concreting and building. We just managed it by taking advantage of the 7 day free parking facility at the docks.

We assembled all the paperwork from Hills and went to the docks to collect it. Thanks to Kevin and his team all we had to do was drive it home. It was fabulous everything we ever dreamed of, we love it! It is a special feeling for classic car owners to have a car that turns heads and is lovely to drive. Thanks to Kevin at hills shipping for helping us to realise our dream.

Another cold winter's night was enough to decide it was time to do the trip of a lifetime to a sunnier climate. We had rented Harley's in the past but this time we were going to buy ourselves a real American Harley and bring it home to the UK after riding it around Arizona, California and Nevada.

We at Hill Shipping have arranged shipping of a 2003 Harley Davidson from Hong Kong to Southampton by ro ro, the importer is Mr David Enticknap.

The importer arranged delivery of the motorcycle to our agent in Hong Kong port , the bike was then loaded onto a vessel and shipped by ro ro to Southampton.

Now that I have given my 72 Cadillac Coupe-De-Ville a good clean and polish, I thought you would like to see some photos and while I’m at it, I’ll take the opportunity to thank you most sincerely for all your excellent attentions over her importation from the USA.

There are two things which, to my mind, made your services so professional; firstly all my many questions via e-mail were answered very promptly throughout the whole process from start to finish – sometimes within a matter of a couple of minutes! – and, secondly, all the hassles which one would naturally assume are going to arise over the somewhat complex business of shipping and importing a vehicle were lifted off my shoulders.

In other words, total peace of mind – all I had to do was curb my natural impatience whilst waiting for that first tantalizing glimpse of her arriving at the front door.

I can speak from experience because I have imported a couple of cars from the USA previously having dealt direct with a shipper in the USA. Doing it all yourself means you have no one to turn to when you come up against a problem and, believe me, that can be quite stressful when you realise that a few grands-worth of your hard-earned is somewhere between a place thousands of miles away and your home. My point here is that your price was very competitive compared with what I had paid before so I had not even saved much dosh by having the headaches of arranging it all myself.

I can only highly recommend your door- to-door service to anyone who wants to buy their dream car in the USA but is worried over having it shipped across. I can truthfully say to them - no need to worry – the whole thing is taken off your hands from collection from the seller, wherever he may be, to arrival on your doorstep. Plus it was particularly pleasing to be kept fully informed of progress at each step along the way.

Hill Shipping arranged the import of this fantastic looking 2005 Triumph rocket motorcycle from USA to the UK.

The owner delivered the bike into our New York loading depot, we then arranged loading into a shared container and shipping to the UK , it was then collected by the owner from our unloading depot in Chatham, Kent.

We are now arranging the export of the same bike to Fremantle, Australia for the same client as he is now working there and wishes to take his bike with.

Our client, Nick Hopper was kind enough to email us with the following :

REDUCTION IN IMPORT TAXES ON UNITS OVER 30 YEARS OF AGE

Due to a new ruling from HMRC, we can now obtain a ruling on motor vehicle and motor cycles over 30 years and without substantial changes which reduces import duty to ZERO and the VAT is just 5% , this offers a very large saving on vehicles from 1981 and older being imported into the UK , subject to meeting the correct criteria.

SHIPPING OF A 2005 HELL CAT MOTORCYCLE USA TO THE UK

Hill Shipping arranged collection, crating and shipping of 2005 Hell Cat motorcycle on behalf of Roger Price.

The motorcycle was collected from New York and shipping from NY loading depot in a shared container across to the UK were it was unpacked in our Chatham warehouse.
